Onika Dainty’s Bio
I am a 35-year-old writer living in Toronto, Canada. I have a background in history, communications, PR and event management but none of that compares to my love of the written and spoken word.
I have an important story to tell and I am grateful you are all willing to listen. I am a person that has experienced some of the worst things life has to offer from sexual assault to mental illness, yet I am still standing, I’m still smiling, I’m still here. I want to talk about what I have been through in hopes of reaching my audience and inspiring them to persevere in the face of adversity.
Having a mental health disorder has given me a unique perspective of the world around me and the people who live in it. I am not an expert on mental health and I do not claim to be on the podcast but I have 10 years of experience with mental illness and the knowledge and experience I have gained as I battle my illness will be able to help others. Every topic I touch upon I try to shine a light on how our mental health is affected.
