IN SUPPORT OF – The ‘State Of Mind Youth Mental Health & System Innovation Festival’
startswithme.ca/som

The ‘State of Mind Festival’(SOM) celebrates teen expressions of mental health through multimedia, traditional, and non-traditional arts. These are created by high school students and other young people through classroom SOM & teacher co-created curriculum. The next step is to translate the content into actionable conclusions to shape next year’s programming.

During the day hundreds of teens share and celebrate their expressions. In the evening, we bring together system stakeholders to digest the youth messages. Attendees will hear from system leaders and innovators learning how they can improve their work to better promote the mental health of young people. It reflects changes that have occurred in attitudes, treatment, outreach, and education in youth mental health.

One Strength Obstacle Course Racing Youth Group’

One Strength OCR was created to support at-risk-youth with lived experience of addictions, mental illness, and/or homelessness in accessing psychical activity as well as a positive social network of peers with similar life experiences. We offer FREE weekly training opportunities (Strength training, CrossFit, Running groups, races & OCR’s, etc.) and an outlet for youth aged 16 – 29 years of age to positively engage in their community whilst improving their overall health and building positive relationships.
